Literacy, the ability to read, write, speak and listen in a way that lets us communicate effectively and make sense of the world is central to what we do in schools across the curriculum and we are delighted to start welcoming our youngest learners back into class this week.
But of course, these skills are learned first at home with our loved ones. So during June we want to celebrate our fantastic eBook resource Bug Club that has helped teachers ensure that every child has access to a wide range of eBooks that are well matched to their level of confidence and cover a range of genres.
We are going to run a month long Read-a-thon to see which of our house families is clocking up the most titles in the Bug Club range and win the very first Book Bugs Trophy.
Will it be Earth, Air, Fire or Water?
