A healthy two course meal is provided daily. The meals are prepared by North Tyneside Council at Wallsend Jubilee Primary School and delivered hot to our school kitchens. Menus run on a three-week cycle and change each term. Menus are available in school and can also be can viewed below. Vegetarian, medical dietary requirements and alternatives to beef can be provided as part of the service. All menus are nutritionally analysed by a state registered dietician.
Currently, lunches cost £2.40 per meal or £12.00 per week for Year 3 and 4 (school meals are free for Reception to Year 2). You may pay weekly, monthly, half-termly or termly in advance; whichever method is most appropriate for you. Payment is set up on the Parent Mail online system.
The children who bring in a packed lunch sit alongside pupils having school dinners. Lunch time is a very important occasion at school and all children are encouraged to display good table manners and acceptable social behaviour. Should you wish to alter arrangements for lunches either from packed lunch to school dinner or vice versa, it is important that the School Office has one week's notice. Costing per head is extremely tight and time is needed to allow the Cook to adjust her orders. Unfortunately, changes mid-week and regular odd days for school meals cannot be catered for.
