First Aid Training

Eager, young life-savers spent an afternoon learning all about the Public Access Defibrillator located just outside our front entrance at Seaton Sluice First School.

A defibrillator is a portable device that checks heart rhythm and, if necessary, it can send an electric shock to the heart to try to restore a normal rhythm. They are used to treat sudden cardiac arrest and can increasingly be found in our villages and towns.

The children found their training incredibly interesting and, while they hope never ever to need to use it, they were all thrilled that they had learned a skill that could save someone's life!
