We have been contacted by the Local Authority with details of a helpful site for parents of young children who use the internet.

The internet is a wonderful place, full of opportunities to learn and explore.  It is however vital that parents and carers are fully aware of what they can do to keep their children safe when they are exploring the web.

We recommend parents visit: www.net-aware.org.uk

Parentzone provide a free online course for parents and carers called Resilient Families – a free online course to help them get to grips with the things you really worry about when the children and young people in your care go online.

It includes topics such as radicalisation and extremism, cyberbullying and sexting.

It is presented as three short episodes that cover: 
A child’s online world. 
The Bad Stuff – including online extremism and how radicalisation happens. 
How to use offline parenting skills to help your child stay safe online.

We hope you find this information helpful.
