AHOY! singers on the big stage

Singing talents from Years 3 and 4 took to the big stage last weekend (Sat, July 1) to perform at the AHOY! concert in Newcastle.
Pupils wowed the audience with their incredible performances alongside Newcastle Choral Society and singers from other schools at the city's Castlegate venue, Turbine Hall.
Deputy Head and SSFS choir leader Mrs Bennett said: "We are bursting with pride at the children who took part; they not only did the school proud but themselves also.
"It was a one-off experience to be part of and the children all thoroughly enjoyed themselves."
As well as singing with the acclaimed Newcastle Choral Society, SSFS pupils also performed the school's own song Ode to William Smith and joined Eastlea Primary School in Cramlington to sing traditional folk song Bobby Shaftoe.
Pupils were accompanied by Mrs Bennett, Mrs Dixon and Mrs Dale.
Ahoy! Sing for the Mary Rose, composed by Alexander L'Estrange, celebrates the rise, fall and rise of Henry VIII's warship the Mary Rose.
