Traffic Calming Zone

After years of campaigning, Seaton Sluice First School and the surrounding area are finally to become a 20mph zone.
Following many years of concerns raised by parents, local residents and staff about the safety of the community, the new speed limit has finally been given the go-ahead by Northumberland County Council.
And SSFS pupils have been invited to take part in a special competition to design new street signs.
The two winning designs from each class (Years 1-4) will have their artwork made into a real road sign.
The new scheme will also involve extending the zig-zag lines outside of school and painting double yellow lines on corners which are deemed unsafe to park on.
The school is extremely grateful to local councillor Susan Dungworth who helped to communicate the community's concerns to the council.
SSFS would also like to thank everyone in the community who have supported the school's work on making the area a safer place for everyone.
