Our formal French curriculum is taught exclusively in Key Stage 2, specifically to our Year 3 and Year 4 pupils, providing them with an exciting gateway to a new language before they transition to middle school.
To make language learning highly accessible, engaging, and age-appropriate, our tailored curriculum does not focus on complex grammar or writing. Instead, our French sessions place a strong focus on speaking and listening, understanding French culture, and singing. By embedding language through vibrant songs, interactive games, and oral practice, our children build early conversational confidence. At the same time, exploring French traditions and daily life fosters a rich cultural curiosity and helps our pupils develop a broader global awareness.
