Lockdown Practise

Children at SSFS practised a 'lockdown' drill last week as part of the school's policy of keeping pupils safe.
As well as preparing for the event of a fire, governors agreed last year that the school should also practise the procedure for a lockdown.
The drill itself was carried out in a child-friendly, calm manner; the siren sounded and children assembled in a suitable area on the carpet while lights were turned off, blinds were closed and classroom doors locked.
Some teachers read the children a story whilst others had a quiet chat.
Children from nursery to Year 4 were extremely sensible and understood the importance of practising another way of keeping them safe.
